Sarah Wheeler, a 25-year-old from Rowena, New South Wales, embarked on “The Outback Long Ride,” a solo 5,500-kilometer horseback journey across outback NSW and Queensland. This expedition was undertaken in loving memory of her late parents and aimed to raise awareness and funds for upper gastrointestinal cancers through the Pancare Foundation.
Throughout her journey, Sarah was supported by various individuals who assisted as support drivers. One notable supporter was Kaitie Nash, who who assisted as a support driver and coordinated fundraisers while on the road.
The culmination of Sarah’s journey was celebrated at the Rowena Pub, where friends and family gathered to welcome her return. The event included a live auction and festivities to honour her remarkable achievement.
Sarah’s dedication and the support of individuals like Kaitie played a significant role in the success of “The Outback Long Ride,” which raised substantial funds and awareness for cancer research.
